"The Country of the Iguanodon" by British artist John Martin (1837). Three years before this painting was created, the first skeletal fossil of an Iguanodon was discovered. Dinosaurs were not yet fully understood as scientific beings from deep prehistory at that time; the term "dinosaur" was not even used before 1842. For many people, the idea of giant animals from primeval times seemed to originate more from legend than from science. Just like this painting.

This wonderful illustration is a prime example of fantastic paleoart. The dinosaurs and primeval creatures are not necessarily depicted scientifically accurately here, but they are incredibly great! That's how we got to know dinosaurs in our childhood, and that's how we remember them.

Incorrect Dinosaurs unearths the dinosaur images of our childhood for all of us and thereby preserves a piece of history for humanity. Support this noble endeavor and show your appreciation with this fantastic merch.
